Finally understanding this moodle thing

I'm feeling good about my moodle page. Yes, it took a while but I'm finally beginning to understand it. Many times during the process I had to redo what I had completed. I searched videos and YouTube to try to make sense of what I was doing. Many time I felt like throwing in the towel. But I usually took a break then and came back to it. Spending time away also helps me to refocus and think of new ways in which I can solve my problem.

One thing I found out that it's good to read all directions before starting and refer back to them often. When I first set up my moodle page I only included 6 weeks. Then when looking back over the directions I read that we had to have 8 weeks. I had to go back and redesign the labels that I had already made.

I still have a few questions that I didn't find answers to. I'm sure if I had searched more I could have found the answers. One of the questions that I still have is that I'm not so sure how to more the weeks around in moodle. For example I wanted to add a picture to the beginning of my page. To do that I had to move everything down. I think I took the long way around doing that.

Overall I understand more about moodle that I did before this assignment and for that I'm grateful.

  1. It sounds like your experience was a lot like mine. I definitely had some frustrating moments, but in the end am very glad that I had the chance to work through all of this stuff. I also re did several things, looked back through instructions many times, and looked up videos. It's a good reminder of what some of our students go through while trying to figure out new material.

  2. I love that you are being proactive and seeking out how to do things that aren't immediately evident. While I don't think it's bad to struggle a bit and discover how to do things, I also don't want you get frustrated and give up. So if you want help with anything, you know you can ask, right? Even just a phone call might be all you need.

If you want to move weeks around, you can just turn on editing and then click the little 4-arrow icon by the name and drag where you want it to go.
